Iran ‘The Salesman’ goes on screen in Ecuador

Iranian movie ‘The Salesman’ directed by Asghar Farhadi is currently on the silver screen in Ecuador.

The Oscar winning film is being shown in movie theaters across the Ecuadorian cities of Quito and Guayaquil. It premiered in Ecuador on March 31.

The picture is expected to be in the movie theaters for another three weeks.

The Salesman’ tells the story of a young couple named Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. But an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.

The film stars Iranian actress Taraneh Alidoosti and actor Shahab Hosseini.Farhadi’s ‘A Separation’ which also won the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 2011 has also been shown in Ecuador.

‘The Salesman’ won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards.

The film also won Best Screenplay award for Asghar Farhadi and Best Actor award for Shahab Hosseini at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2016.
